Borgogno Barolo Classico Red 2020
The Barolo Classico 2020 from the prestigious Borgogno winery is a DOCG Italian red wine that represents the purest and most traditional essence of Piedmont. This Barolo is produced from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from five historic vineyards in the municipality of Barolo, following traditional methods that respect the authenticity of this legendary appellation.
Traditional Vinification
After manual harvesting in the five historic vineyards, the grapes are destemmed and crushed at the winery. This is followed by spontaneous fermentation in large concrete tanks, at a temperature between 22° and 28°C for approximately 15 days. Subsequently, submerged cap maceration occurs in concrete tanks for 20 days, during which malolactic fermentation also takes place. The wine is then transferred to large Slavonian oak barrels, where it ages for over 24 months. This is followed by a period in concrete tanks before bottling.
Wine Characteristics
