Gianni Gagliardo Roero Arneis DOCG White 2020
The Roero Arneis DOCG 2020 from Gianni Gagliardo is an Italian white wine that celebrates the native Arneis grape variety, one of Piedmont's noblest and most distinctive. Hailing from the Roero area, this wine expresses the elegance and minerality typical of this DOCG appellation.
The Arneis Grape Variety
Arneis, whose name means "little rascal" in Piedmontese dialect, is an ancient white grape variety that was almost extinct but has been recovered in recent decades. Today it is considered one of the great Italian white grape varieties, producing wines of great finesse and complexity.
Wine Characteristics
Appearance: Brilliant straw yellow with greenish reflections.
Aroma: Delicate and subtle bouquet, with notes of stone fruits (peach, apricot), white flowers (acacia, orange blossom), and hints of dried fruits (almond).
Palate: On the palate, it reveals itself to be delicate but with pleasant complexity. Excellent minerality stands out, a characteristic of Roero wines, balanced by flavours of stone fruits, white flowers, and hints of dried fruits. Fresh and persistent finish.
