Sassicaia 2022 Magnum 1.5L - Prestigious Format
Sassicaia 2022 Magnum 1.5L is Italy's most emblematic wine, produced by the prestigious Tenuta San Guido in Bolgheri DOC Superiore, Tuscany. This revolutionary red wine is made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, presented in the Magnum (1.5-liter) format.
Magnum Format - Prestige and Quality
The Magnum format (1.5L) is considered the ideal format for aging wines, as the ratio between the wine volume and the air space is more favorable, allowing for slower and more harmonious evolution. Furthermore, the Magnum is a prestigious format perfect for special celebrations and grand occasions.
The Wine that Revolutionized Italy
Sassicaia was the first modern Super Tuscan, created in 1968 by Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta. This revolutionary wine challenged conventions by planting Cabernet Sauvignon in Tuscany and using French oak barrels, forever changing Italian enology and creating the Super Tuscan category.
Unique Bolgheri Terroir
The vineyards benefit from complex and varied soils, with a strong presence of limestone, areas rich in marl and pebbles, as well as clay components. Located between 100 and 400 meters of altitude, with a west-southwest orientation, they provide ideal conditions for grape ripening. Proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea provides freshness and minerality.
Bolgheri DOC Superiore - Unique Denomination
Sassicaia is the only wine with its own sub-denomination within Bolgheri DOC, recognizing its historical importance and exceptional quality. This is a unique honor in Italian enology.
Sublime Tasting Profile
Sassicaia 2022 presents complex aromas of ripe dark fruits, cassis, blackberries, complemented by notes of oriental spices, cedar, and graphite. On the palate, it reveals elegant and silky tannins, excellent structure, and a persistent, mineral finish that lingers for minutes.
Excellence in Winemaking
The grapes are carefully selected and hand-harvested. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats, followed by maturation for about 24 months in French oak barrels, and subsequent refinement in the bottle.
Food Pairing
Perfect to accompany grilled red meats, aged beef ribs, noble game such as venison or wild boar, and aged cheeses.
Aging Potential
This wine in Magnum format has enormous aging potential, capable of evolving magnificently for 25-30 years or more under proper storage conditions.
