400th Anniversary Commemorative Edition:

This special edition celebrates 400 years of the Van Zeller family in the Douro, one of the oldest and most prestigious Port wine producing families. A historic milestone representing 15 generations of dedication and excellence.

About Vintage Port:

Vintage Port Wine is produced only in the best years, representing the pinnacle of production. This 2020 is a testament to an exceptional harvest.

Winemaking Process:

Made from traditional and indigenous red grapes, hand-picked in different sub-regions of the Douro. The grapes are foot-trodden in ancient granite lagares and ferment in the same lagares for 2 to 5 days. When the must reaches the desired residual sugar level, grape spirit is added to stop fermentation. Aged between 18 and 24 months in old wooden barrels with capacities between 600 and 10,000 litres. Bottled without fining or filtration.

Tasting Notes:

The result of an extremely hot summer, with very ripe and dense red fruits, with a hint of compote. An explosion of different red fruits, typical of traditional grape varieties and the immense diversity of varieties in the old vineyards.
