The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2020 from Tenuta Calimaia, owned by the prestigious Frescobaldi family, is a DOCG Italian red wine that represents the excellence of Tuscany. Produced from the Sangiovese grape (locally known as Prugnolo Gentile), this wine expresses the unique character of one of Italy's most noble terroirs.

Unique Terroir

Located in a historic area for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano production and considered one of the most suitable, Calimaia lies in the gentle hills between Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia. The vineyards, arranged around the winery hill, enjoy an altitude of 300 meters above sea level and are diverse in terms of exposure and soil type, thus allowing each cultivated vine to be enhanced.

Wine Characteristics

Visual: Intense ruby with garnet reflections, clear and bright.

Aroma: Elegant and complex bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits (cherry, plum), violets, sweet spices, hints of leather and balsamic notes.

Palate: On the palate, it reveals itself to be structured and elegant, with firm but silky tannins. The vibrant acidity perfectly balances the ripe fruit, providing a long and persistent finish with notes of red fruits, spices, and minerality.
